Search engines have identified the names of seven more soldiers of the Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army, whose remains were found in the Olonetsky region of Karelia during the Vidlitsa-2024 Memorial Vigil, the press service of the search detachment “Vidlitsa Frontier” reported on August 24 on the VKontakte social network.
The Vidlitsa 24 Memorial Watch was held from August 1 to August 14, 2024 in the Olonetsky district within the framework of the Karelia Frontline Roads project, implemented by the Karelia Union of Search Teams CRPO. Investigators from the Vidlitsky Frontier, Bears, Combat Brotherhood and Tracking of Dead Aircraft detachments examined the site of the battle and the death of soldiers of the 719th Rifle Regiment, discovered in June 2024.
During the Memorial Vigil, the remains of 32 soldiers of the 719th Rifle Regiment, who had been listed as missing since September 1941 in the Tuloksa River area in the Olonets region, were recovered. Earlier, the press service of the Vidlitsky Frontier detachment reported on four fighters whose names were established: Grishin Alexander Dimitrievich, born in 1915, Igoshin Mikhail Fedorovich, born in 1918, Savinov Yakov Timofeevich, born in 1916, and Saltanov Alexander Alexandrovich, born in 1907. Now seven more names have been added to these names.
From the notes on the medallions, the following names of the wrestlers were identified: Zverev Alexander Petrovich, born in 1906, Malkin Philip Timofeevich, born in 1903, Mordvinov Grigory Semenovich, born in 1906, Saurov Yakov Mikhailovich, born in 1917 and Gorlov Andrey Denisovich (the year of birth is not specified). According to the signature on the bag, Dmitry Trofimovich Ivakhnenko, born in 1918, was identified, and according to the belt – Alexander Filippovich Boriskin, born in 1903.
A total of 22 medallions were reportedly discovered when the fighters were lifted. Work continues to determine the names of the dead Soviet soldiers.
