A naval search and attack group is conducting a planned exercise to search for and destroy submarines of the conventional enemy in the maritime zone of the Baltic Sea, the Information and Communications Department of the Russian Defense Ministry reported on the official Internet portal on August 24.
The ship’s search and attack group went to sea to practice a number of tasks aimed at its main goal – searching for enemy submarines and destroying them with the help of anti-submarine weapons. The group includes small anti-submarine ships from the Baltic naval base of the Baltic Fleet “Aleksin” and “Kabardino-Balkaria”.
During the planned exercise, the naval sailors will not only practice anti-submarine missions, but will also carry out mine laying and firing artillery systems at sea and air targets. The ship crews will also perform joint maneuvering tasks.
