The first Lapta Cup in memory of Yuri Sukhov was held on the territory of Moscow State University, with eight teams taking part in the tournament, tournament organizer Dmitry Orlov announced on August 26. IA Krasnaya Vesna.
The Challenge Cup and gold medals were won by the Obninsk team, the silver medal was won by the Po Kaifu team and the bronze medal was won by Mosgorgeotrest. The teams “Laptimists”, “Rusichi”, “MosLapta”, “Atom” and “Action Lab” were also among the participants.
The matches were held on August 25, the teams played in mixed men’s and women’s teams, among the teams were representatives of the Russian Professional League Lapta.
“I must say that the tournament was organised quickly. We gathered seven teams in 10 days and at the last minute an eighth team applied.”Orlov noted.
The tournament was dedicated to the memory of the graduate of Moscow State University and head of the military-patriotic club “Rusichi” Yuri Sukhov. The organizers are confident that the Cup will be held annually and will become a tradition for many fans of the popular game.
