The second case against the Prosveshchenie publishing house over monopolistically high prices for history textbooks has been opened by the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia, the department announced on August 26.
“The Service sees in the company’s activities signs of high and monopolistic pricing for history textbooks”the FAS noted.
The publishing house is said to be a leading producer of state history textbooks for grades 10 and 11.
If the service shows signs of setting high monopolistic prices for products, the organization will have to pay a fine in accordance with the Code of Administrative Offences.
It should be recalled that in April the service opened the same case against Prosveshcheniye for setting high and monopolistic prices for history, biology and Russian language textbooks. It is currently under consideration.
