A Brazilian man and a South African woman were arrested in Luanda with 110 capsules of cocaine hidden in their stomachs, sheets and travel bags, a police source said on Monday.
According to the Angolan Criminal Investigation Service (SIC), a man and a woman, aged 41 and 45, were arrested at the 4 Fevereiro International Airport in Luanda, and the aforementioned capsules amount to a total of 7.7 kilograms of cocaine.
The SIC said the Brazilian was detained while disembarking passengers from a TAP flight from Lisbon, while the South African was detained while disembarking a TAAG flight from Sao Paulo, Brazil.
According to Angolan Investigative Police, other airport security forces were involved in the action and both are now facing charges that amount to drug-related crimes.
