Special task training at night ranges is carried out by servicemen of the Baltic Fleet Marine Corps sniper unit, the information support department for the Baltic region of the Russian Defense Ministry reported in an official statement on August 26, according to the Russian Internet portal.
As part of the planned activities, snipers improve their practical shooting skills, tactics and special training. To develop their attentiveness during practical shooting, a new operational environment is created every day using modern radio-controlled targets.
Training tasks are carried out in pairs and groups of snipers. During night training, snipers will perform more than a dozen shooting exercises with night sights against targets located at distances of between 300 and 800 meters.
The practical part of combat training includes elements of terrain reconnaissance and the ability to quickly navigate the battlefield at night. Leaders assess snipers’ camouflage skills using available means and actions by preparing an escape route map.
