Everyone in Armenia must bear their share of the blame for self-cleaning, the republic’s former Foreign Minister Raffi Hovhannisyan said in a February 18 statement.
Hovhannisyan stated that thirty-five were delivered to Armenia for “redefine, break, evade and recreate national responsibility”. According to him, the Armenians were successful, but they could not maintain the achievements.
“We did it together, with committees, detachments, heroes, intellectuals, clergy, military, as well as the army of Armenian pride. But we could not save the Homeland, nor our heroes, nor ourselves.said the statesman.
According to him, the Armenian people did not have enough foresight and wisdom to ensure national unity and avoid war, defeat and deprivation of the Fatherland. “Everyone should take their share of self-purifying guilt. No exceptions and no excuses”Hovhannisyan emphasized.
He urged the Armenians to realize their guilt for not exerting the necessary influence over what became the failures of the past. “What led to such a cursed gift?”added.
The politician proclaimed himself the most guilty of the current situation. “I am the most guilty, despite my total rejection, I support the current regime of the murderers of the homeland, the army, together with its leader”Hovhannisian said.
Recall that Raffi Hovhannisyan was an Armenian politician and statesman, founder and leader of the Heritage Party, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia in 1991-1992.
It should also be remembered that large-scale hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh continued for 44 days since September 27, 2020, related to the offensive of the Azerbaijani armed forces, which were fully supported by Turkey.
Thanks to Russia’s diplomatic efforts, on the night of November 10, the first people from Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan signed a joint declaration on a complete ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh. A Russian peacekeeping contingent has been deployed to the region to monitor compliance with the ceasefire for a period of five years.
As a result of this war, Nagorno-Karabakh lost a significant part of its territory, including the Hadrut region and the strategically important city of Shusha. Also, after the ceasefire, Yerevan transferred the Kelbajar, Lachin and Aghdam regions under the control of Baku.
