The US Navy officially lifted the requirement to get vaccinated against COVID-19

The US Navy officially lifted the requirement to get vaccinated against COVID-19

The US Navy has finally dropped its requirement to get vaccinated against COVID-19 and with it the ban on bringing unvaccinated sailors to deploy, Military.com writes on February 19.

“COVID-19 vaccination status should not be considered when evaluating the suitability of an individual military member for deployment or other operational tasks,” according to an internal US Navy circular.

The document does not mention the reinstatement of sailors who have already been discharged from the US Navy for refusing to stab, or that sailors who were discharged for the same reason will be transferred back to operational command. As of the end of November 2022, 1,639 active duty sailors and 402 reservists were discharged from the US Navy.

In addition, lawyers for the First Liberty Institute, which is leading the largest US Navy lawsuit, said that even after the change in vaccination policy, they continue to assess the consequences for their clients, who already have more than 4,000.

Remember that the lawsuit was originally brought by a group of Navy SEALs, but was later expanded to include all US sailors who refused to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
