This Friday, the IC2 motorway was disabled in both directions for more than four hours between the municipalities of Loures and Lisbon due to the skidding of a TIR truck in the Moscavide area. As a result of an accident in which a truck driver was injured, more than a ton of strawberries spilled onto the roadway.
The inspection took place at 17:30 and resulted in the mobilization of firefighters from Sakavem and PSP.
Kilometer-long queues formed, which led to the redirection of traffic to alternative routes.
The truck driver had to be evacuated and taken to the Santa Maria hospital.
Only after removing the wreckage of the truck and collecting about a ton of strawberries from the road, it was possible to resume traffic, which returned to normal by 22:00.
