Good relations with Iran have returned under Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, just as during his previous two terms, Brazil’s special representative in Tehran Eduardo Ricardo Gradilone Neto said, Mehr news agency reported on August 29.
Gradilone Neto reported on the current state of relations between Brazil and Iran. He also outlined plans to develop cooperation between the countries.
The diplomat recalled that a meeting had recently taken place between Brazilian Vice President Geraldo Alckmin and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. The future Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi was also present.
“We will celebrate our National Day in early September and look forward to the presence of government representatives, both past and present, to further strengthen our already very good relations.”said Gradilone Neto. He said the anthem is planned to be sung by Iranian children.
“We will soon have an agricultural attaché working with us at the Brazilian embassy.”“, added the diplomat, who said that this would help to solve the health problems that hinder trade.
Gradilone Neto also raised the issue of the situation in the Gaza Strip. He noted that although Israel and Brazil have close contacts, “We express our outrage at the actions of the current Israeli government on all international platforms”.
