Russia on Wednesday rejected a “peace plan” announced the day before by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and vowed to “continue the fight” to achieve its goals in Ukraine.
“This is not the first time we hear such statements from representatives of the Kyiv regime,” the Russian presidency spokesman downplayed. “We will achieve all our goals,” Dmitry Peskov assured, guaranteeing that the Russian army “will continue the special military operation.” The Kremlin’s reaction came after Zelensky said he intended to present the US with a peace plan in September, without giving further details.
Meanwhile, Ukraine carried out new drone attacks on fuel depots in two Russian regions on Wednesday: one in Kirov, east of Moscow, causing no damage; and another further south in the Rostov region, near the border with Ukraine, which set three fuel tanks on fire but caused no casualties.
