FC Porto management is very close to signing a contract with Argentine central defender Neuen Perez.
In the last few hours, the Dragons have moved closer to the intentions of Italians Udinese, who have accepted the departure of the 24-year-old in a deal that involves a loan with an option to buy.
The defender, formerly of Famalicao, did not train on Wednesday and the Italian club offered no explanation. Local media reports that Porto’s latest offer will open the deal. According to the newspaper RecordSAD pays 4 million per year of credit, leaving 13 million with the condition of mandatory purchase.
Aside from the possible success of this deal, Porto will be on the pitch to ensure another option for the back line. In the last few hours, the names of Moroccan Nayef Aguerda (28) from West Ham and Brazilian Khair, a 19-year-old central defender from Santos, have emerged.
“The desire to make the jump to a league like the Premier League”
“We always want to improve and make the jump to an important league like the Premier League, but I’m calm,” Argentine Alan Varela told ESPN. The Porto captain, however, insists that the dream is not an obsession: “I try to work as much as possible. The moment will come when it comes.”
The midfielder admits he is “sad” not to have represented his team at the Olympics but believes he could be called up to the Pampas squad in the future.
Varela also expressed his “admiration” for Benfica’s Di Maria: “He is one of the best.”
