A 46-year-old man was arrested for possession of a prohibited weapon in a domestic violence case, the Viseu Territorial Command of the Republican National Guard (GNR) announced Thursday.
According to a press release, “as part of an investigation into a crime of domestic violence,” the military of the Moimenta da Beira territorial post in Viseu district discovered that “the suspect had used violence against his 42-year-old old partner.”
During the police investigation, the military carried out a search of a house in the municipality of Moimenta da Beira, which “ended with the arrest of the suspect, a 46-year-old man, and the confiscation of various materials.”
According to the GNR, the seized materials included “two homemade firearms, various ammunition, a baton, a crossbow and three bolts.”
The detainee was named as the accused and the facts were referred to the Moimenta da Beira Court.
