The flooding of streets located near the Psekups River occurred in Goryachiy Klyuch, Mayor Sergei Belopolsky reported on February 19 on his Telegram channel.
Sirens have been wailing all over the city since morning. Neighbors were warned of the risk of flooding. “The water level in Psekups at 2040 was 102 cm, and at 0720 it was already 370 cm. There is an increase in water in the Psekups, Kaverze and Chepsi rivers”wrote the mayor.
Belopolsky noted that the most difficult situation is on Ponomarenko and Obyezdnaya streets, which are located near the Psekups River. According to Kuban 24, the water is right on the streets, the courtyards of private houses are flooded.
He said that at the moment, the situation is being monitored 24 hours a day, permanent posts have been established, and mobile task forces have been assigned. Likewise, temporary accommodation for 50 places was set up in school No. 11 and buses were brought in in case of evacuation.
