Seven people were injured on a United Airlines flight to Chicago on Wednesday after severe turbulence forced an emergency landing in Memphis, Tennessee, Reuters reported. Mirror.
Flight 1196, a Boeing 737-900, took off from Cancun, Mexico, and was flying over the state of Louisiana when it was hit by strong shaking.
One person was rushed to hospital, while the other six did not require hospital treatment. The extent of the passengers’ injuries is unknown.
According to the same source, a United spokesperson told local media: “We are grateful to our crew for their efforts to keep our employees and customers safe and look forward to departing our flight to Chicago soon.”
