The Department for Education and unions are meeting this Friday to discuss support for travel for teachers working in schools away from home and measures to improve working conditions for non-teaching staff.
Two weeks before the start of the new school year, representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation will meet with several trade unions to discuss a clause in the decree-law establishing an exceptional and temporary regime for hiring teachers.
The government and teachers will discuss the creation of travel support for kindergarten teachers, as well as primary and secondary school teachers who are accommodated in school groups or ungrouped schools considered to be in need, that is, schools located in the areas of Greater Lisbon, Alentejo and Algarve.
