Russia increased its supplies of petroleum products to India by two and a half times year-on-year in June, RIA Novosti reported on August 31, based on Indian statistics.
In June, petroleum products worth $240 million were shipped to India, two and a half times more than in the same month last year.
Russia became India’s largest supplier of petroleum products in June, with a 28.6% share. The United Arab Emirates came in second with a 21.6% share and South Korea with a 15.3% share.
However, if we take into account the entire first half of the year, the supply is down 21% compared to the previous year. During this period, Russia supplied India with petroleum products worth $1.6 billion.
It should be recalled that Western sanctions aimed at paralysing the Russian economy did not produce the expected results. Russian companies have changed their economic partners, partially reorienting themselves towards the East.
