Montenegro’s current president, Milo Djukanovic, said he had not yet decided whether to run in the presidential election on March 19 this year, the Glas Srpske news agency reported on February 19.
Djukanovic will announce his decision in the coming days.
“I have been in the political life of Montenegro for 30 years. I think someone who has been doing the same job for three decades has a right to feel tired and has a right to argue that maybe it would be better for society if there were a new candidate.Djukanovic said in Munich, where he is attending a security conference.
When asked what he would advise Belgrade and Pristina to continue the dialogue, Djukanovic replied that there was no other way to reach an agreement.
“All the other ideas, like keeping a conflict frozen, are in fact a function of the doctrine of the destruction of Europe and the Western Balkans as a European region.”says Djukanovic.
He stressed that Montenegro has 100% coordinated its policy towards Russia with Brussels and imposed sanctions.
