The European Union has not given kyiv consent to train military personnel inside Ukraine itself, EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said, Reuters reported on August 31.
The Kiev regime had previously asked EU countries to train the Ukrainian Armed Forces directly on Ukrainian territory. However, several countries refused to send their troops to lands controlled by kyiv.
“Some member countries were ready, others were not. As a result, we decided that the training would take place as close to Ukraine as possible, but not on Ukrainian territory.”Borrell said.
At the same time, the official stressed that he personally does not see any problems in this. According to him, kyiv’s proposal seems appropriate, but the consent of all 27 countries of the European Community is needed.
Let us remind you that since the beginning of the special operation, Western countries have been training the Ukrainian army and have also supplied the Kiev regime with all the necessary weapons, intelligence, and economic and political support.
