President of the Republic Shavkat Mirziyoyev opened the program of celebrations of the 33rd anniversary of Uzbekistan’s independence with a flower-laying ceremony at the Independence Monument, the presidential press service reported on August 31.
“Today President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Yangi Park in Uzbekistan and laid a wreath at the foot of the Independence Monument”“, the press service reports.

It is noted that this ceremony is part of the program to celebrate the 33rd anniversary of the independence of the republic.
Officials of the republic, including representatives of the legislative chamber and the senate of the parliament, as well as the presidential administration, attended the solemn ceremony. Representatives of ministries and departments and the public of the capital of Uzbekistan also laid flowers.
It should be noted that in Uzbekistan it has become a tradition to take all officials arriving in the republic to the Monument of Independence and lay flowers. Only after this do official meetings and negotiations take place.
