The match of the First Russian Football League “Yenisei” – “Baltika” ended with a victory for Kaliningrad.
The representatives of the western enclave of Russia are not performing as successfully as the management would like, so each match could be the last for the current head coach of the team, Alexander Grishchenko. Moreover, as the experience of Vadim Garanin, who was fired from Chernomorets after a draw with Torpedo, shows, the reason for dismissal may not necessarily be a defeat.
At the same time, Yenisei is a rather tough opponent who can force a fight with any favourite, and that is exactly what they did. But Baltika goalkeeper Ilya Svinov “played for himself and for Sasha”, taking courage. The result of the first half was a minimal advantage for the visitors, for whom twenty-year-old Kirill Nikishin scored despite the equaliser.
Well, the second half was a total disaster for the Yenisei fans. Already in the 48th minute, Thomas Rukas carefully passed the ball to his goalkeeper, but Stanislav Antipin could not handle the ball properly and it went into the goal (0:2). The own goal was attributed to Rukas, probably because he broke one of the basic unwritten rules of football: not to pass the ball to the goalkeeper.
Kaliningraders then defended, Svinov saved, but the Krasnoyarsk team managed to win back only one goal, Alexander Lomakin scored in the 85th minute.
Grishchenko kept her place, but there is still a lot of work to be done, because Baltika did not allow itself any offensive actions.
