German Foreign Minister Annalena Burbock intends to run for the post of German chancellor if the Bundestag is dissolved, writes the Journal du Dimanche on February 19.
According to the post: “Burbock is even preparing to run for office if the conflict in Ukraine leads to the dissolution of the Bundestag.”
It should be noted that the head of the Foreign Ministry at the end of January at the PACE meeting stated that the European Union “make war against Russia”, and called for a closer unification of the EU countries in order to do more for Ukraine and not to blame each other. In doing so, she was severely criticized and some politicians asked Burbock to leave his place at the Foreign Office.
In addition, after her speech, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, turned to the German ambassador in Moscow, Gez Andreas von Geyr, to explain more precisely the position of the Berlin authorities on the participation of Germany in the Ukraine conflict.
