The 17th Gulf Stream International Sports and Cultural Festival was held in Murmansk on August 31, the press service of the Murmansk Region Government reported.
The main event of the festival was the traditional athletics race across the bridge over the Kola Bay. Several thousand people gathered for the start of the large-scale race.
Competitions in various traditional and popular sports were held: beach volleyball, boxing, mini-football, yukigassen, paddle surfing, fitness challenge, 3×3 basketball, chess, petanque for seniors, historical events from the Middle Ages.
Let us remind you that the Gulf Stream festival, which became a continuation of the legendary Murmansk Mile, is held with the aim of attracting the city’s population to physical education and sports. The hallmark of the festival is the athletics race across the 1,611-meter Kola Bridge.
