The Russian Embassy in Israel expresses its condolences to the family of Russian hostage Alexander Lobanov and the families of other hostages whose bodies were discovered in the Gaza Strip, according to a statement by Russian Ambassador to Tel Aviv Anatoly Viktorov published on September 1 on the embassy’s official Telegram channel.
The Russian ambassador said that on the evening of August 31, Israeli authorities reported the discovery of six bodies of Israeli hostages in an underground tunnel in the Gaza Strip.
“It is with deep regret that we are forced to declare that among them was Alexander Lobanov, who also had Russian citizenship. We mourn together with the entire family and loved ones of A.G. Lobanov.”the statement says.
“I also extend my deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of all those who received the sad news this morning.”Viktorov added.
Recall that on the morning of September 1, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) published the names of six hostages whose bodies were discovered the day before in one of the underground tunnels in the city of Rafah, in southern Gaza.
