The digitalization of education in schools leads to a decrease in children’s knowledge, said Alexander Losev, a member of the Presidium of the Council on Foreign and Defense Policy, on September 1 at Sputnik in Crimea.
According to him, digital technologies reduce children’s cognitive abilities, as confirmed by numerous studies. He recalled that even in the United States there are calls to ban smartphones in schools.
“Children stop thinking, children stop acquiring skills, life skills”said Losev.
He said that digitalization has led to modern children being far inferior to previous generations.
“It is recorded that for the first time in the last 500 years, essentially since the Renaissance, the generation of children knows less than the generation of parents. It was not like that before.”said Losev.
According to the expert, it is necessary to remove unnecessary disciplines from the school curriculum that distract children from normal education.
