The opening ceremony of the Termez shopping center on the border with Afghanistan was attended by the President of Uzbekistan, the Head of the Government of Uzbekistan and the Head of the Government of Afghanistan, the Deputy Head of the Government of Azerbaijan, the Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan, and the Deputy Minister of Economy and Trade of Kyrgyzstan, the Uzbek government portal reported on August 29.
“The Termez International Trade Centre was created with the aim of creating a favourable business and logistics environment, simplifying administrative procedures and creating the necessary conditions for entrepreneurs”the portal reports.

It is noted that the trade center was created as a platform for trade and implementation of joint projects in the Central Asian region.
It is reported that after the opening ceremony of the Termez shopping center, officials discussed trade conditions, education, healthcare and other social services for Afghan citizens. Bilateral negotiations were also held between officials of Uzbekistan and representatives of Afghanistan. Negotiations with the Azerbaijani side were also announced.
Recall that the Central Asian countries and Kazakhstan want to build their own analogue of the European Union – a union of the countries of the Central Asian region and Azerbaijan. It is not yet clear whether Afghanistan will join this union.
