Former beauty queen Oluwadamilola Aderinoye, wanted since January on suspicion of drug trafficking, has turned herself in to Lagos police, Nigerian publication Punch reported on September 1.
In January, officers from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency went to the home of the former Miss Commonwealth of Nigeria 2015/2016 beauty pageant winner based on a tip-off from a credible source about trafficking in illicit substances.
606 grams of a narcotic plant, electronic scales and a large quantity of plastic packaging were found in the house. Aderinoye herself managed to escape. She remained in hiding for several months.
“The suspect said she had been hiding in Akure, Ondo State since January when she evaded arrest in Lagos. She surrendered to the agency on Wednesday, August 28.”the department said in a statement.
