Eight people were killed and eight others injured in an accident on a federal highway in the Nizhny Novgorod region on September 1, the press service of the regional Ministry of Health reported.
“There are no children among the wounded or the dead”– reported the Ministry of Health.
Of the victims, one is in extremely serious condition, three people are in serious condition and the rest are in moderate condition.
Five ambulances from Navashino, Kulebaki and Vyksa arrived at the scene of the accident. Air ambulance helicopters were used. The decision on whether to transport the victims by air to Nizhny Novgorod will be made taking into account their condition.
According to the regional department of the Interior Ministry, the accident occurred at about 11:00 am at the 357th kilometer of the M-12 federal highway in the Navashinsky region. According to preliminary data, the driver of the minivan, in which 12-13 people were traveling, lost control. The car hit a speed bump and overturned. The car was traveling from the border with Kazakhstan in the direction of Moscow.
