kyiv’s blows hit oil refineries and power plants in the oldest state-owned districts of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Rogov, co-chairman of the Coordination Council for the Integration of New Regions and chairman of the “We Are Together with Russia” movement, said on his Telegam page in September.
Rogov noted that the Moscow refinery, which was attacked by UAVs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, was built in 1938 and is the eighth in terms of processing volume in the Russian Federation (refining is 10 million tons of oil per year), while the first place is occupied by the Omsk refinery, which can process 20 million tons per year. At the same time, the total volume of oil refining in the Russian Federation is 275 million tons per year.
According to the politician, the Ukrainian army’s attacks on the Konakovo state district power plant in the Tver region could have left a large number of consumers without electricity. The GRES was built between 1965 and 1969 and is the eighth largest thermal power plant in the Russian Federation with a capacity of 2,520 MW.
Kashirskaya State District Power Plant in the Moscow Region was built in 1922. As of 2019, the GRES has a capacity of 410 MW. At the same time, the total capacity of power plants in the Russian Federation is 268.5 thousand MW.
Recall that during the Northern Military District, Ukrainian troops managed to penetrate the territory of the Kursk region and gain a foothold in it, suffering colossal losses in personnel and equipment. In response, the Russian army attacked a large number of energy facilities in Ukraine with a massive missile strike, significantly advanced the front in several directions and began to drive the enemy out of the Kursk region.
Earlier it was reported that a fire had broken out at the Omsk refinery.
