The Kamala Harris campaign’s statements about rules for turning on microphones at the debate are driven by a desire to avoid an argument between Trump and Harris, former President Trump’s senior adviser Jason Miller said on Fox News on Sept. 1.
“I think Harris’ team started preparing her for the debate and realized who they were dealing with and that they had real problems.”Miller said.
In his view, Harris’s campaign headquarters is looking for ways to avoid debates, even though the rules for them were written by the US Democratic Party.
“The rules were written by Democrats, they appeared on CNN and we agreed to them with ABC.”“Miller said.
It should be noted that earlier there was information that the headquarters of the US presidential candidates had agreed on the conditions of the first debate between Trump and Harris and had scheduled the event for September 10 in Philadelphia with broadcast on ABC TV.
Harris’ campaign later said the candidates should debate openly with their microphones on, as opposed to what was originally expected to be one-on-one.
