The best-selling car in 2024 in the Chinese market was the BYD Qin PLUS sedan, Focus2Move reported on August 31.
In total, 281,100 BYD Qin PLUS cars were sold in the Chinese market in the first seven months of this year. Sales growth amounted to 18.4% year-on-year.
The top three also included the BYD Qin PLUS and Tesla Model Y crossovers – 246 thousand cars each, respectively. The BYD Seagull electric car took fourth place and the Nissan Sylphy sedan took fifth position.
Also in the top ten were the Volkswagen Lavida, Toyota Corolla and BYD Yuan Plus. The top ten is completed by the BYD Song Pro and the Volkswagen Passat. The remaining cars sold less than 128 thousand units.
Let us remember that the Chinese car market is the largest in the world. Its sales slowed down in July, but 2024 still shows a moderate growth of 1.9%.
