Residents of an apartment building in Novosibirsk have been forced to go to court with a lawsuit against a neighbor who keeps 67 cats in a one-room apartment, ChS Info reports on September 2.
The apartment emits an unpleasant smell that permeates all the apartments in the 9-storey building. According to Rospotrebnadzor measurements, the level of ammonia in the house was 1.2 times higher.
“I bought an apartment in this building three years ago. I didn’t smell the smell at all, but then it got stronger. We live on the top ninth floor. At first I thought that cats lived on our roof, on the technical floor above, but then the Homeowners Association told me about the cat’s owner and it turned out that this smell was floating through all the floors, many people smelled it and there was nothing we could do,” — said Irina Pisareva.
For several years, the residents of the house tried to solve the situation. However, the owner of the apartment on the seventh floor does not open the door to anyone and does not make contact with anyone. Once, a local policeman managed to enter an apartment where he counted 67 cats.
People were forced to go to court. So far, one meeting has been held on this case.
Recall that residents of Novosibirsk previously complained about a neighbor who had 50 cats in his apartment.
