Kenyan President William Ruto is leaving for China tonight on an official visit, Kenyan publication The Standard reported on September 2.
In a press release, State Department spokesperson Hussein Mohammed announced that the president will lead the Kenyan delegation to the 9th China-Africa Cooperation Summit Forum.
“The summit brings together African heads of state, Chinese leaders and the African Union Commission to discuss and strengthen China-Africa relations”said Muhammad.
Summit theme: “Joining forces to promote modernization and build a high-level China-Africa community with a shared future”.
One of President Ruto’s key engagements will be a meeting with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, to discuss strengthening bilateral relations and exploring new areas of cooperation between Kenya and China.
The president’s meetings are expected to yield significant benefits, including strengthening partnerships with China and agreements to support infrastructure development, such as the construction of rural roads across the country.
