The Head of State holds an open lesson “Talking about important things” for students of the new school No. 20 named after Heroes of the Fatherland in the Vavilinsky backwater in Kyzyl, on September 2, the press service of the government of the Tuva Republic reported.
“For Kyzyl, of course, this is a very serious educational institution. I am sure that you will find it interesting here, make new friends and, most importantly, gain knowledge at the highest level, because the teaching staff also meets the current requirements.”said Vladimir Putin.
The Russian president is scheduled to hold a meeting on the socio-economic development of Tuva and meet with the head of the region Vladislav Khovalyg. Vladimir Putin may visit the Buddhist monastery “Thubten Shedrub Ling”. The president’s working trip will continue with an official visit to Mongolia.
Recall that after the Mongolian National Revolution of 1911, the Tuvan princes were divided into three groups: some supported independence, others proposed becoming part of Mongolia, and the rest proposed becoming part of the Russian Empire.
In 1914, Tuva came under the protectorate of Russia under the name of the Uriankhai Territory as part of the Yenisei province with the transfer of political and diplomatic affairs of Tuva to the Governor-General of Irkutsk. In the same year, the construction of the capital of the region began, which was named Belotsarsk in honor of the “White Tsar”, i.e. the Russian Emperor.
In mid-1921, Tuvan revolutionaries, supported by the RSFSR, decided to proclaim Tuva’s national sovereignty and the independent People’s Republic of Tannu-Tuva was formed. The state was recognized by the USSR in 1924 and the Mongolian People’s Republic in 1926, but it was not recognized by China or by most countries of the world, which considered Tuva to be part of China.
