A 71-year-old French pensioner reportedly drugged his wife so she could be raped by dozens of other men, according to Daily mail, Dominique P. is accused of running a rape ring through an online forum where he invited men aged between 26 and 74 to his home in Mazan, France, and then filmed them sexually assaulting his wife. The crimes were committed over nine years, from 2011 to 2020.
French police have counted a total of 92 rapes committed by 72 men, 51 of whom have been identified and are now on trial along with the main suspect.
According to the victim’s lawyer, whose words are quoted by the publication Daily mailThe woman had no memory of the abuse, which she only discovered in 2020. “For the first time, she will have to relive the violence she suffered over 10 years,” he said.
Police began investigating Dominic P. in September 2020 when he was caught by a security guard secretly lifting the skirts of three women at a shopping mall.
During the investigation, hundreds of photographs and videos of his wife, unconscious and mostly in the fetal position, were found on his computer.
Dominic P. admitted to investigators that he gave the woman strong tranquilizers, especially Temesta, a drug that reduces anxiety.
The abuse began in 2011 when the couple lived near Paris and continued after they moved to Mazan two years later.
The suspected offenders include a driver, a firefighter and a journalist. Some are single, others are married or divorced. Most participated only once, but some participated up to six times.
Dominic P., who said he was raped by a nurse when he was nine, is ready to face “his family and his wife,” his lawyer Beatriz Zavarro said. The man was also charged with murder and rape in 1991 and attempted sexual assault in 1999.
Experts say the man does not appear mentally ill but have concluded he needs to feel “power” over a woman’s body, according to assessments included in court documents.
