All participants in major terrorist attacks in the North Caucasus in the 1990s-2000s will be punished, the FSB Public Relations Center told reporters on September 3.
On September 3, Russia celebrates the Day of Solidarity in the Fight against Terrorism. Previously, on September 1-3, 2004, a school in Beslan was seized, when militants took more than 1,200 hostages, resulting in the deaths of 334 people, including 186 children.
The Russian FSB, in cooperation with the Investigative Committee, continues to actively hunt down all those involved in armed attacks, including the actions of gangs led by Shamil Basayev and Khattab, as well as a series of attacks that occurred between 1995 and 2009.
“In total, 110 people were arrested for these crimes, of whom 50 were sentenced to sentences ranging from three years to life imprisonment.”– the FSB reported.
It is noted that efforts continue to find and bring the rest to justice.
