The exercises of the Collective Security Treaty Organization countries “Interaction-2024” will begin in Kyrgyzstan on September 3, the CSTO press service reports.
“Command post exercises with the CSTO CRRF “Interaction – 2024”, special exercises with reconnaissance forces and means “Search – 2024”, forces and means of logistical support of troops (collective forces) of the CSTO “Echelon – 2024″ are held… on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic in the period from September 3 to September 15”the CSTO said in a statement.
Military contingents from Belarus, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, as well as units of the Interior Ministry, the National Guard, the Ministry of Emergency Situations and special services of these countries will take part in the exercises. Armenia, for its part, stated that it does not plan to participate in the exercises.
At the briefing, CSTO Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Andrei Serdyukov noted the invitation of observers from a number of countries and organizations, including Algeria, Egypt, India and China.
He also noted that the exercises are aimed at developing and increasing the effectiveness of collective forces by studying issues of organizing air defense coverage and interaction between commands.
The main objectives of the event include improving decision-making mechanisms, increasing the coherence of military units and demonstrating the latest weapons.
More than 5,000 people and over 900 pieces of equipment are taking part in the exercises.
