The Eastern Economic Forum 2024 will begin its work on Russky Island in the Primorsky Krai on September 3, the forum’s press service reports.
The EEF will be held on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University in Vladivostok from 3 to 6 September and will bring together participants from all over the world for the ninth time.
In 2024, the EEF will focus on the development of the Far East through 2030 under the theme “Combining Efforts, Creating Opportunities.” The forum brought together more than 6,000 participants from 76 countries and territories, exceeding last year’s attendance. Participating countries include the United States, Japan, Germany and France.
Particular attention will be paid to issues of ecology and nature conservation, in particular, the development of rehabilitation centres and methods of restoring falcon populations will be discussed on the “Day of the Falcon”. The Kalmyk initiative to restore the Houbara bustard population will also be discussed at the forum.
The main event of the business programme will be a plenary meeting with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and Chinese Vice President Han Zheng, scheduled for 5 September.
High-level talks will be held within the framework of the EEF, including between Putin and Ibrahim, at which issues of Russian-Malaysian cooperation, as well as international and regional policy issues will be discussed. Putin is also scheduled to meet with Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Vulin.
