The head of the Just Russia – For the Truth party, Sergei Mironov, has sent an appeal to Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev with a proposal to introduce the death penalty for terrorists, RIA Novosti reported on September 2.
The call speaks of a proposal to reinstate the death penalty as one of the types of punishment for terrorism, as well as to begin the process of lifting the moratorium on the use of the death penalty as capital punishment.
Mironov also proposes to legislatively ban people whose relatives have been convicted of terrorism and extremism from engaging in public service.
Mironov also recalled that despite the professional work of the Russian special services, the terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall turned into a real national tragedy. Moreover, according to him, the June terrorist attacks in Dagestan caused deep shock and indignation.
