A bill providing for the eviction of foreign citizens from Russian territory for conducting illegal election campaigns was submitted to the Russian government for consideration by the head of the State Duma Committee on Labour and Social Policy, Yaroslav Nilov, and deputies from the LDPR faction, RIA Novosti reported on September 3.
“Foreign citizens must be expelled from the territory of Russia for conducting election campaigns, and administrative fines must be increased for legal entities and officials who involve foreign citizens in election campaigns.”says the explanatory note.
According to the bill, an administrative fine for officials is 5-10 thousand rubles, for legal entities – 50-100 thousand rubles, as well as an administrative fine of 5-10 thousand rubles for foreign citizens or stateless persons for conducting election campaigns.
According to Nilov, foreigners should not influence the internal politics of the Russian Federation.
