US Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris is confident that the entire election race will be accompanied by an intense fight to the very end. She announced this on September 2, speaking to her supporters in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
“We know it will be a close race until the end.”Harris said.
In his view, it is too early to rely on opinion polls that he will overtake his Republican rival Donald Trump in popularity, as the situation may change in the remaining two months.
Recall that the US presidential election will be held on November 5. The first candidate of the Democratic Party was the current president Joe Biden, but on July 21, a statement was published on social media about his refusal to run for re-election. Harris was nominated instead.
Reuters and research firm Ipsos conducted a poll on July 22-23 that showed Harris leading Trump in support by 44% to 42%.
At the same time, Bloomberg and the Morning Consult consulting group also conducted a poll after Biden left the election campaign. It showed the former president leading by 47% to 45%.
