A ceremonial transfer of five hydrofoils took place in the Anadyr seaport as part of a working trip by First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov, the press service of the Governor’s Office and the Government of the Chukotka Autonomous Region 3 reported in September.
According to Denis Manturov, these hydrofoils have already been tested in operation in the estuary during the off-season. Replenishment of the fleet will make the journey safer and more accessible for Chukotka residents.
The hydrofoils will be put into operation by the state budgetary institution “Road Operations Department of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug”.
Passenger transportation across the Anadyr estuary will begin in October this year. During the season, 6,000 passengers will use this type of transport.
Recall that Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered measures to ensure the supply of vessels necessary for passenger and cargo transportation through the Anadyr estuary in 2024.
“The Russian government, together with the government of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, should take measures to ensure the supply of vessels necessary for passenger and cargo transportation through the Anadyr estuary in 2024, using existing support mechanisms, including preferential leasing.”– reported the list of instructions posted on the Kremlin website.
