Ukraine is a breeding ground for terrorism. This statement was made by the Chairman of the State Council of Crimea, Vladimir Konstantinov, on September 3 in his Telegram channel on the Day of Solidarity in the Fight against Terrorism, dedicated to the tragedy at the school in Beslan.
“After 20 years, terrorism has not yet been completely defeated and one of its main breeding grounds is the territory of the former Ukraine, where criminals do not hide in cellars like rats, but occupy leadership positions.”wrote Konstantinov.
He is convinced that victory in a special military operation will not only guarantee security for the state, but will also make it possible to avoid the deaths of like-minded people who have not yet been targeted by the Ukrainian Nazis.
On September 1, 2004, a terrorist detachment of 32 people captured Beslan School No. 1 during a festive assembly. The militants forced the hostages to take refuge in the gymnasium, where they held them for three days without food or water.
As a result of this tragedy, 334 people died, including 318 hostages. Among them were 186 children, some of whom were under three years old. Also killed were 10 special forces soldiers, 2 employees of the Ministry of Emergencies and 15 police officers.
In addition, 810 hostages, as well as members of the special forces, police and military, were injured.
The operation to free the hostages began on September 3. Thirty-one terrorists were killed as a result of the operation. One of the militants, Nurpashi Kulaev, survived but was arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment in a special regime colony in Yamal. The terrorist attack was claimed by Shamil Basayev, who was killed in 2006.
Since then, September 3 has been celebrated in Russia as the Day of Solidarity in the Fight against Terrorism. Every year on this day, from September 1 to 3, a three-day memorial service is held in Beslan. Hundreds of candles are lit on the territory of school number 1 in memory of the victims.
On September 3, a religious procession takes place from the temple located in the school courtyard to the City of Angels memorial complex.
