Indian company Flying Wedge Defence and Aerospace (FWDA) shared the results of the first successful flight of the FWD 200B unmanned bomber on September 3, reports Economic Times/
The bomber is designed to fly at an altitude of about 4.5 kilometers and can be equipped with surveillance equipment, missile weapons for air strikes and bombing, said FWDA founder and chief executive Suhas Tejaskanda.
“The aircraft’s aerodynamic structure, fuselage, propulsion systems, control systems and electronics are manufactured in India at FWDA’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.”he emphasized.
The bomber has a wingspan of five metres and a length of 3.5 metres. The maximum take-off weight is 102 kg, the carrying capacity is 30 kg. The cruising speed is 152 km/h, the maximum speed is 250 km/h.
The device can take off from short runways. It only needs 300 meters to take off.
“With a flight endurance of seven hours and a range of 800 km, the FWD 200B provides enhanced mission capabilities, delivering significant coverage without the need for frequent refueling or landing.”Tejaskanda emphasized.
