VTB Bank has tripled its lending to small and medium-sized businesses in the tourism sector compared to the same period last year, the bank’s representatives announced on September 4 at EEF-2024.
According to the bank’s representatives, this year VTB has provided more than 1,000 loans worth 139 billion rubles to clients of medium-sized and small businesses in the tourism and hotel sector.
The largest amount of loans is allocated to the Central Federal District – 119 billion rubles, to the Southern Federal District – 49 billion rubles, as well as to the Volga (46 billion rubles) and North-Western (37 billion rubles) federal districts.
VTB Board Member Ruslan Eremenko, whose words are quoted in the message, noted the high investment activity of the tourism business in the Far East, where the bank’s client loan portfolio in the SME segment amounts to 15 billion rubles. The portfolio’s greatest dynamics were recorded in the Primorsky Krai: since the beginning of the year it has increased by 1.5 times.
The top manager stressed the special importance of the preferential lending programme in the tourism sector in supporting clients. VTB became one of the leaders among participating banks with a share of about 30% in the total transaction volume.
