On September 4, the head of the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office, Igor Krasnov, announced his readiness to share with Myanmar the practice of confiscating corrupt assets, including cryptocurrencies.
During a working meeting on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum between Krasnov and Myanmar Anti-Corruption Commission Chairman Sit Ey, options for cooperation between the two departments were discussed.
As a result of the negotiations, Krasnov said that the Russian department has developed the practice of confiscating corrupt assets, including cryptocurrencies, which they are willing to share. But no less interesting, according to the head of the Prosecutor General’s Office, is the experience and achievements of colleagues from Myanmar.
The Prosecutor General of Russia also invited specialists from Myanmar to participate in training courses that will be held at the Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia from October 8 to 10.
Following the meeting, the parties signed an interdepartmental cooperation programme.
