The earthquakes in Turkey have not caused a slowdown in the construction of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant, Rosatom chief Alexei Likhachev told reporters on February 21.
noted that “the tremors hit the Akkuyu construction site, but they didn’t even cause a break in the pace of work, not to mention the damage”.
Likhachev expressed the hope that the cataclysms will not affect the construction of the station. He added that there were no changes in the plans of the Turkish authorities.
“Part of the equipment used in the construction of the nuclear power plant was sent to eliminate the consequences of earthquakes. This team is slowly coming back and we are doing everything possible so that this does not affect the pace of work”.– Likhachev also added.
The head of Rosatom explained that in the near future he plans to visit the construction site himself and meet with the Turkish leadership.
