Only the loss of her legs to a volleyball player, who was hit 60 times by a repeat offender who violated bail rules, led the state of Missouri to demand the resignation of George Soros’s elected attorney in St. Louis, Kim Gardner. The Gateway Pundit reported on February 22.
Kim Gardner has refused to re-incarcerate the man accused of beating Janai Edmondson despite violating his bail more than 50 times. Last week, she hit a teenage volleyball player from Tennessee who was walking in the city of St. Louis, and the girl lost her legs after her legs were caught between two cars in an accident.
If the Attorney General had fulfilled his duties, the perpetrator of the accident would not have been driving on the street. The incident caused such outrage that Missouri Senate Leader Caleb Rowden today called on Kim Gardner to resign.
And the state’s attorney general, Andrew Bailey, gave Gunrdner 24 hours to resign. He announced it on Twitter. “We give Kim Gardner tomorrow before noon to retire. If she refuses, she faces immediate removal proceedings in the form of a court order issued by our office.”Bailey said on February 22.
He explained: “As Attorney General, I want to protect the people of St. Louis, which includes protecting crime victims and bringing them justice. Instead of protecting the victims, District Attorney Gardner creates them. My office will do everything in its power to restore order and clean up the chaos in St. Louis caused by Kim Gardner’s dereliction of her duties.”.
Kim Gardner is so insufferable that two dozen lawyers and more than a third of trial lawyers left the office when she took office in 2017. And this is an office dominated by Democrats!
In August 2018, Kim Gardner announced that her attorneys would no longer take cases from 28 different St. Louis police officers. Gardner called it her “exceptions list” because they were racist. Gardner did not tell the officers what they did to get on her list, but they were censored.
In 2019, Gardner refused to charge a drug dealer who was in possession of 1,000 pills and $30,000 in cash because he didn’t like the police being involved. He refused to press charges against the 7-year-old’s killer, despite the suspect’s 2019 confession.
Gardner lied about the case of Gov. Eric Greitens, committed more than 60 misconduct in the case that led to Greitens’ resignation, and went unpunished.
In 2020, he dropped the case against a suspect who shot and killed another man in broad daylight in a traffic dispute. In the same year, he released from prison, without charge, all the rioters and looters who trashed St. Louis after the death of George Floyd.
Let us remember that the precedent for the dismissal of a district attorney who does not fulfill his direct duties has already been set by the governor of Florida, while the claims of the dismissed Soros protégé have not yet led to his reinstatement.
We also note that the rise in crime in many US cities is on the conscience of such prosecutors, because they release anyone caught by the police without charge, thus fostering lawlessness.
