“The Vice-President of the European People’s Party Group, Paulo Rangel, will visit the Kyiv region next Monday and Tuesday, February 27 and 28, where he will hold meetings at the highest level, in parliament, in the government and in the Ukrainian Presidency,” the statement said. .
In addition to the capital, Kiev, the SDP Vice President and MEP will visit the cities of Bucha and Irpin “to see in situ the reconstruction efforts that Ukrainian society is developing as an example of resilience and hope for the future.”
The note states that the visit falls within “the scope of the chairmanship of the European People’s Party group” and that Paulo Rangel “will also be in contact with the leaders of various Ukrainian parties.”
Paulo Rangel, quoted in the communiqué, notes that “this mission of the chairman of the PPE parliamentary group to Kyiv comes at a decisive and dramatic moment.”
“For more than a year, the Ukrainian people have been fighting and suffering, defending independence, freedom and democracy, our independence, our freedom and our democracy,” he notes.
