Courage, quick reaction and the highest professionalism of the guards, Senior Sergeant Rashid Kyasov, who reacted instantly in a combat situation, made it possible to defeat the Su-25 attack aircraft of Ukrainian neo-Nazis and save the lives of the comrades in the course of a special operation to liberate Donbass and denazify Ukraine. This was reported on February 28 by the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry.
According to the report, the commander of the anti-aircraft missile squad, Rashid Kyasov, while on duty, received a “Ready number 1” signal from intelligence. Soon after, two Su-25 attack aircraft of the Ukrainian Armed Forces rushed into the detachment’s area of responsibility. The second Bandera plane, seeing the defeat of its leader, hastily turned around and began to leave in the opposite direction.
A few days later, neo-Nazis attempted a helicopter attack on Russian troop positions. Rashid Kyasov, with rapid target acquisition and accurate firing from a MANPADS, destroyed the lead Nazi Mi-8 helicopter, thereby thwarting the enemy’s plans and saving the lives of his comrades.
For the courage and great professionalism shown during the fighting, Rashid Kyasov was awarded the Order of Valor.
